Topanga Banjo Fiddle Contest and Folk Festival
Today we had an amazing time at the 53rd annual Topanga Banjo Fiddle Contest and Folk Festival. Carin and I are kicking ourselves that we've lived in LA so many years and this is the first time we've gone. The event is held at the Paramount Ranch, a ranch in the mountains near Malibu that Paramount Studios purchased in 1927 and used for countless movies, building a Western backlot that has been seen in everything from Gunsmoke to Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Very cool place.
And a very cool festival, as you can see from this short video and the pictures that follow. Noah was entranced by the whole thing. He stayed pretty quiet for most of the music but soaked in every note.
Also...seasoned corn on a cob on a stick!
Good day.
My pregnant wife is ready for a trip to the saloon. (at 19 weeks!)
