Noah at Six Flags

We went to Six Flags Magic Mountain today for Carin's annual company picnic, and we had a great time.  A few cute pictures are below, but, first, I thought I'd start with this little companion video for anyone who has seen Noah at the Drum Circle.  Here is Noah at Six Flags...

Here are a few more lunch pictures, taken during Noah's emotionally charged demolition of an ice cream sandwich.

Noah at the Drum Circle

I took Noah to a drum circle the other day.  It was fun, but I think this 7 second video speaks to what really interests Noah these days.

Quinoa + Peek-A-Boo + Triumph Fists

Noah likes to eat quinoa with his hands and make a mess.  A few days ago, he was eating quinoa and then started playing Peek-A-Boo, smearing the quinoa all over his face.  This was followed by some major triumph fists action and the picture below.

Noah has been doing triumph fists A LOT lately, and it has been cracking us up.  I think he knows he cracks us up with it and is making it a staple of his toddler stand-up routine.

First Day of School

Okay, technically it's just day care, but we are calling it "school," and, after 17 months at home with Daddy, Noah started there today.  Here are a few pictures...

About to enter.

At school, Jessica introduces Noah to Delilah the dog.

****ADDENDUM****

Noah's first week of school was a great success.  He is napping and eating well and seems to be having a good time.  His teachers have already remarked on his affectionate nature, obvious intelligence, large appetite, and fondness for buttons.

Here is a photo of Noah playing at home after his first day of school.
He was a bit tired.

Noah Lately

We have just been loving our little guy these last few months.  He's been too terrific for words--so good natured, talkative, fun, and downright hilarious.  This video will give you a glimpse into what he's been up to lately.  In this episode, Noah meets and greets in his new playhouse, makes triumph fists, reads a book with Mommy, and toasts L'Chayim.  Enjoy!

Recent Photos

Here is our guy at 16 and a half months.

Amanda recently visited us from New York.  Here she is with Noah and Carin.

Now for some of Noah's new baby friends.  Here is Mommy with Elease and Baby Quincy.

And here is Daddy and Noah with Nick and Baby Sam.

Noah plays with Mommy's water

This is one of those occasions where my parent brain and my filmmaker brain were in conflict.  I think the filmmaker brain won here because I kept recording.

Other thoughts:
Will Noah become a compulsive hand washer?  Currently taking bets.
Does he remind anyone else of Harpo Marx in this video?

Noah Gets The Sillies, Episode 4

Once again, in the hour before bedtime, a pants-less Noah succumbs to a major case of the sillies.  This episode features a silly explosion followed by some more low key silliness, camera-grabbing, and talking from our favorite little guy.

...and more words!

Just in the few days since my last post, Noah has added more words to his vocabulary.  He has said Buckle ("Bucka"), Sock ("Sah"), Chair ("Cheer"), Phone ("Phone"), Sit ("Sit"), Carrot ("Cahr").  He's also mastered the name of our cousin Ariella ("Ayala") who is visiting this week.  It really seems that each day brings at least a couple new words.

Noah has also been saying "Bye" and "Hi"--not consistently, but occasionally and often at surprising and funny moments.

Here are a few pictures from our adventures of the last couple days.

**ADDENDUM** In the 24 hours following this post, Noah said 5-10 new words, including Fruit ("Roo" and "Fwut"), Sheep ("Shee"), and Outside ("Tsai").

Words! Words! Words!

Picture taken one hour ago.  Noah's hair is crazy because we went to the plant store and he accidentally dunked it in one of the fountains.  The fountains are his favorite part of the plant store.  His second favorite part is taking the identification tags from the various plants so that Daddy must play detective to determine which tag goes where.

Noah just pointed to my shoe and said: "Shooo"

This morning, he pointed to his blueberries and said "Boo"

I take him outside, and ask, "Noah, where is Daddy's car?"

He points to my car.  Then he points to other cars.

NOAH: "Cawuh!  Cawuh!  Cawuh!"

(He says "car" like he's from the Bronx.  It's his second favorite word after "Butt" which is how he says "button."  He finds buttons, tantalizing buttons, wherever we go, and he is fascinated by them.)

ME: "Noah, where is a tree?"

NOAH: (pointing to tree as he walks by) "Tuh, Tuh!"

ME: "Noah, can you point to another tree?"

NOAH: (pointing to the next tree) "Tuh!"

ME: "Noah, where is the cactus?"

NOAH: (pointing to cactus) "Cat!  Cat!"

Every day with Noah, he surprises us with new words.  Usually, the word is just a single syllable, but there are exceptions.  "Tissue" is "Tshoo."  "Water" is "Wawa."  "Peek-a-boo" is "Picka."

He is also using "Momma" and "Dadda" with much more regularity.  This has been music to our ears.

Over the course of the past month, we have been amazed at how many words he seems to know and how much he seems to understand.  We're enjoying this phase immensely.  Noah is just a really fun guy to be around.  Here are a few more pictures of him with Mommy, playing "Picka" and being generally cute.

Before I sign off, here are three pictures from last month that I happen to really love--even though Noah is not particularly smiley in any of them (two are from our Canada trip and one is from our backyard).

Canada Trip - The Siegerman Videos

Here are a few videos taken from our amazing trip to Canada.

First up, in chronological order, is Auntie Cindy and Noah, who make beautiful noises together.

And now for the serious home movies.  These are long and probably enjoyable to family members only--but, as that is probably most of you, you might find them fun.  First up is Howard and Barbara's surprise 50th wedding anniversary party.

Howard and Barbara were told that their children would be taking them on a vacation but didn't know to where until 2 days before departure.  They were told we'd be going up to Oxtongue Lake but had no idea what was in store for them first in Toronto.

The plan was for Jordan to pick them up from their flight at 9:30am and somehow stall for two hours before bringing them to Auntie Joannie and Uncle Brian's house where the surprise party was to happen.  Much planning and scheming did occur--but was then rendered unnecessary when their flight was two hours late.  Jordan drove them directly to the Lambert residence where 40+ relatives were waiting.  Here's footage of the party, starting moments after the surprise...

And finally, the REALLY long video (8+ minutes).  These are highlights from our week on Oxtongue Lake.  While I tried to get at least a little footage of everyone, you'll pardon me if these highlights are a bit Noah heavy.  I did think he was the cutest one there (no offense, Paul).

Enjoy.

Yogurtman!

This was the first time Noah grabbed the yogurt spoon and decided to try and feed himself.  There's some cute and funny stuff here--although this is, ultimately, a three-and-a-half-minute-long video of our kid eating, so it may just be for the most ardent fans (the unedited version, which I mercifully did not post, is 3 minutes longer).
